A Closer Look at Neural Codec Resynthesis
My research paper with MIT CSAIL on neural audio codecs — how to rebuild high-fidelity speech from heavily compressed audio tokens. Originally third author on the Interspeech submission; in the published NeurIPS 2024 workshop version I'm credited in the acknowledgments for designing and running the human listening tests on Amazon Mechanical Turk that proved automated audio quality scores diverge sharply from what humans actually hear.
